The Costa Blanca is a magic place offering peace and tranquility abundant nightlife, and safe golden sandy beaches. It also offers magnificent views, whether you are driving in the mountain or enjoying a cold beer by a marina or beach bar. It is no co-incidence that many thousands of people have chosen this place for their retirement.
The Costa Blanca stretches from Denia to Torrevieja. In the north you will see scenic land with interesting towns to visit, Jalon, Moraira, Calpe, Altea and Benidorm. A few minutes inland you will witness the tranquil sights of little village amongst high rugged peaks. The Jalon Valley is a different contrast to the bustling coastline. It has vineyards, lemon and orange orchards lining the roads. This old world is enchanting and the villages of Jalon, Alcalaili and Parcent are recommended to view the narrow streets and the old Spanish ways. Further south you will find the fortified town of Guadelest situated high on a mountain with magnificent views of the surrounding area and a turquoise blue lake immediately below in the valley.
Further south as you pass Benidorm you will find Villajojosa, El Campello, and San Juan before you come to the city of Alicante. The mountains are still a large feature and higher than ever offering a beautiful backdrop to the long golden sandy beaches. You may need a few words of Spanish because it is not as populated by the visiting Europeans but you will find the area enchanting with lots to offer. Minutes drive from El Campello you will come across an old Spanish village, Busot, and a few kilometres further and you can visit the Caves de Canalobrre in the mountains.
The children are spoilt for choice with water worlds, go kart centres, safe beaches, and lots of entertainment available in the towns. Benidorm is worth a day visit offering even more excitement. A new large theme park, Terra Mitica, will be available this summer with all the fun you could imagine and it is only a few kilometres from Benidorm and a short drive from the coastal towns. The teenager has an array of discos and beach bars to visit. The Costa Blanca has it all ! Whether you want to laze by the pool soaking up the sun in peace and quiet or whether you want to be more active visiting the bars, restaurants, and places of interest you will find out here.
South of Alicante, as you pass Santa Pola you will come across the town of Torrevieja. in contrast to the north you find large salt lakes with mile long beaches with sand dunes and pine trees. Thousands of British people have retired in this area as well, not just because of the healthy climate but because of the facilities the area offers
